Carpet One Co-Founder Alan Greenberg Dies

St. Louis, MO, August 28, 2007--Alan Greenberg, the co-founder, Co-CEO / Co-Chairman of CCA Global Partners and Carpet One, died August 28 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Greenberg and Howard Brodsky developed a unique business model that enables thousands of CCA Global entrepreneurs to survive and thrive in a marketplace increasingly impacted by consolidation. They established the Carpet Co-op of America in 1984 and a year later launched Carpet One with 13 members. By the end of 1985 they doubled the co-op’s membership and reached $25 million in sales. Since then, Carpet One members have become the nation’s top floor-covering retail group.

CCA now has $9.6 billion in gross sales and more than 84 consecutive quarters of profitability, with nearly 3,600 locations worldwide benefiting from CCA Global’s business leadership through its 15 different affiliate companies, including Stone Mountain’s Carpet Mill Outlet, International Design Guild, FloorExpo, ProSource Wholesale Floorcoverings, Rug Décor, Lenders One, Lighting One and The Biking Solution.

The funeral is scheduled for Thursday, August 30, and arrangements are still being made.  All CCA offices will be closed Thursday.
