Carpet One Appoints President of St. Louis Stores

St. Louis, MO, January 30, 2007--Carpet One Floor & Home will appoint Barbara Everk as president of Advance Carpet One Floor & Home, the company's corporate stores in St. Louis. Everk joins Carpet One Floor & Home with extensive experience in retail and sales management and a passion for entrepreneurialism. Prior to accepting this position, Everk served as the vice president of sales at Raymour and Flanigan Furniture, one of the country's largest furniture retailers. There she led a sales team of more than 400 and initiated a process improvement effort resulting in substantial profit gains. As president of Advance Carpet One Floor & Home, Everk will be responsible for all sales, marketing, operations and financial aspects of the seven St. Louis area locations. She will be based in the company's St. Louis, MO office and will report directly to Charlie Dilks, the COO of Carpet One Floor & Home and President of Carpet One Floor & Home Canada. Everk, a native of Poland, first demonstrated her entrepreneurial spirit at the age of 18, opening a highly successful English-as-a-second-language school in her hometown. After living in England for a year, she came to the U.S. in 1991 to study biology and chemistry. She has remained in the U.S. ever since, spending eight years at Raymour and Flanigan.
