Carpet Largest Iranian Export Other Than Oil

Morteza Faraji noted that a total of five million Iranians work for Iran's carpet industry.

Speaking during a ceremony held for improving the status of Iranian carpets at Tehran's permanent trade fairgrounds, Faraji pointed out that the carpet industry is a good source of income for villagers in Iran.

However, he said that all Iranians and officials should support the carpet industry in order to help its development.

"Iran's carpet is a sign of national identity for the Iranians," Faraji added
