Carousel Carpet Mills Purchased by Robertex
Ukiah, CA, Jan. 6, 2009--Robertex Associates of Calhoun, Ga. has purchased family owned Carousel Carpet Mills of Ukiah.
Carousel's equipment, which will be moved to Georgia, has made custom carpets for Hollywood celebrities and even Air Force One.
Robertex Associates expects to move the equipment to Georgia in about a month.
“Carousel is a first-class luxury product and will be a great addition to the Robertex family of premium wool carpet and rugs,” said Bob Rothman, Robertex president.
Carousel Carpet Mills’ 38 employees met with the new owners Tuesday and are considering their options, which includes moving to Georgia.
“This acquisition gives us additional stability as a total company,” said Len Andolino, Robertex executive vice president.
“We will now have two brands, Robertex and Carousel, allowing us the ability to offer both 12’ and custom width carpet. A significant advantage is having our own dye–house facility, which enables us to offer custom colors in a timely fashion.”
The mill, founded by 40 years ago by Max Petrich, makes custom carpets for designers nationwide. It has about 1,000 high-end customers.
The mill will remain open for about another month in Ukiah while existing orders are completed.
