CARE Website Wins Environmental Award

Dalton, GA, Mar.10--The website touting the Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) was recently named the winner of the Environmentally Friendly Website Award from Naturally Home. This award is given to websites that show a high level commitment to helping the environment through knowledge, eco-friendly business practices or providing alternatives to businesses and consumers that will save our planet. The goal of Naturally Home is to provide product alternatives that are both eco-friendly and family-friendly at affordable prices, environmentally friendly articles and news and information. The group is committed to making a difference in keeping our planet green and clean. "Anytime you are recognized as being Environmentally Friendly, it is an honor. Our website is one of the many ways in which we communicate our messages and a lot of hard work and effort has been put into making it consumer friendly as well as environmentally friendly. For many people, our website is the face of our organization, so it is vital we provide a high level of information and provide an avenue to best serve those with an interest in CARE," said Bob Peoples, Ph.D., executive director of CARE. "Our site has been configured so people can contact CARE directly and their messages go directly to CARE Board Members for a response. I am amazed at the number of hits this site continues to gather and it is increasing. That tells me we are delivering a valuable service and information that is making an impact." CARE is the voluntary agreement between government and industry to prevent carpet from burdening landfills by focusing on reclamation and recycling efforts. CARE's mission is to foster market-based solutions for recovering value from discarded carpet to meet a 40 percent diversion rate from landfills by the year 2012. "Our board has reviewed the site and determined it meets or exceeded all the qualifications necessary to receive this award. Thank you for your commitment to our future," said Nicole Bandes, director of Naturally Home.
