CARE Elects Braun Chairman, Outlines Strategy

Atlanta, GA, Jan. 19, 2012 -- Werner Braun, president of the Carpet and Rug Institute, was elected chairman of the Carpet America Recovery Effort organization at a CARE board meeting earlier this week.

He replaces Frank Hurd, who retired.

In other business, CARE held a strategic planning session and is putting emphasis on four key areas.

First is product and market development to create new demand for products containing post-consumer recycled content.

The second was to take a closer look at opportunities in PET.

The third emphasis is on marketing outreach through a variety of avenues, including social media and overhauling the CARE website.

Finally, CARE wants to increase yield, all the way from carpet collection to processing.
