CARE Director Leaving for Chemical Society

Dalton, GA, February 22, 2008—Robert Peoples, executive director of the Carpet America Recovery Effort, has accepted a new position as executive director of the Green Chemistry Institute of the American Chemical Society.

In a letter to supporters of the carpet recycling effort, Peoples said “This was not an easy decision, but the opportunity was just too great for me to pass up.”

Peoples will be involved in all of chemistry as it relates to sustainability. He said he would remain on the CARE board of directors.

Peoples said he would be leaving in the next few weeks.
