CARE Allocated $1.565 Million in Project Grants in Q4
Sacramento, CA, November 18, 2026-In Q4 2025, Carpet America Recovery Effort’s (CARE) Capital Improvements Cycle 7A allocated $1.565 million to four high-impact California-based projects that will expand recycling capacity and collection throughout the state. Projects range from trailer/container service expansion for PCC collection to installation of a new pelletizing system supporting Tier 2 product manufacturing. These improvements are projected to contribute millions of pounds in recycled output annually and add new California green jobs.
Under the Micro Grant Program Cycle 5M, the program awarded $15,000 to public drop-off site Certified Blue Recycling of San Leandro, California. The funding will support the purchase of a skid steer to increase PCC extraction from construction and demolition debris streams-a project expected to improve material recovery, enhance worker safety, and create a new full-time job.
CARE is also opening applications for the Innovation & Design (I&D) Grant Program-Cycle 4. This cycle provides funding for research, development, and testing of new recyclable carpet designs, PCC-based products and system innovations that reduce environmental impact and move the carpet industry toward true circularity. CARE has allocated up to $200,000 for Cycle 4, with individual awards ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. Applications are open to private entities, nonprofits, universities and research institutions nationwide. Applications are due March 31, 2026.
