Capobianco Resigns as FCICA Chairman
West Bloomfield, MI, May 24, 2011--Christopher Capobianco of Christopher Collaborative in Patchogue, New York will step down as chairman of The Flooring Contractor's Association (FCICA) board of directors after six years.
At FCICA’s annual convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Capobianco was awarded the crystal chairman’s gavel for his service to the association.
Gerry Swift of Potomac of Floor Covering in Chantilly, Virginia was elected to replace Capobianco. Capobianco will remain on as immediate past chairman.
Swift says, “Christopher has led our association unselfishly and honorably for the past six years. During the worst economy in decades, he successfully kept our membership base unified and strong, while being FCICA’s ambassador to the commercial floor covering industry. I realize that I have some big shoes to fill and challenges ahead as I prepare to take over as FCICA’s chairman on July 1st. I respect the history of our association and look forward to continuing the legacy of the organization that, through our FIT program, wrote the book on commercial floor covering installation. I am committed to working with our associate and contactor members on education and training to make our contractor members the best-trained and most knowledgeable flooring contractors in the country.”
