Canada Green Building Council Approves Standard

Washington, DC, June 24, 2010--The Canada Green Building Council has approved the SMaRT Consensus Standard for Certified Sustainable Products.

The ruling allows the use of SMaRT building materials to achieve a point in the LEED Canada NC 1.0 rating system.

"Awarding the use of SMaRT certified products with a LEED, Innovation and Design credit is an example of the leadership and flexibility of the LEED rating system to acknowledge robust consensus based sustainable product standards, and to encourage product manufacturers to go beyond just complying to single impact certifications," says Tim Cole, Forbo Sustainability Director and chairman of the U.S. Green Building Council.

Milliken is also certifying more products to SMaRT.
