C&A Floorcoverings Earns Environmental Award

Atlanta, GA, Apr. 15--C&A Floorcoverings, a Dalton, GA based commercial floorcovering manufacturer, was honored with an Environmental Improvement Award during the 26th Anniversary Keep Georgia Beautiful Awards Luncheon. "C&A has a long heritage of community involvement and environmental commitment," said Mac Bridger, CEO of Tandus, C&A's parent company. "We are pleased that the passion and dedication of our employees have been recognized by our community." Since 1978, the Keep Georgia Beautiful Awards Program has honored individuals, organizations and businesses whose ongoing efforts prevent litter, reduce waste disposal through conservation and recycling, and preserve Georgia's natural and man-made beauty. Award categories include litter prevention, beautification, environmental improvement, waste minimization and community improvement. The Environmental Improvement Award recognizes the efforts of educators, groups, and businesses providing environmental education to a school, community or natural area. Efforts may include a combination of activities including litter prevention, beautification efforts, waste reduction (recycling, composting, source reduction) as well as water conservation. "With its network of 67 local affiliates, more than any other state, Keep Georgia Beautiful is a shining example of what grassroots involvement and public-private partnerships can accomplish," said Mike Beatty, Commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs, which houses the Keep Georgia Beautiful program. "Bringing these folks together to express our gratitude is the least we can do to honor their achievements, both for the good of their own communities, and the entire state of Georgia."
