Buffett Keeps Salary Below That of CFO

Omaha, NE, March 17, 2008 — The chief financial officer at Berkshire Hathaway again had higher compensation last year than CEO Warren Buffett and Vice Chairman Charlie Munger, the executives who run the company.

Buffett and Munger, both billionaires, each kept their salaries at $100,000 again in 2007, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission Monday.

Buffett was named the richest man in the world earlier this month by Forbes Magazine at $62 billion. The magazine estimated that Munger is worth about $2.4 billion.

Berkshire CFO Marc Hamburg was Berkshire’s highest-paid employee at $723,750 in 2007, which included an $11,250 contribution to a defined contribution plan. In 2006 he received $673,500.
