Broyhill to Close North Carolina Plant

Lenoir, NC, December 4, 2006--Broyhill Furniture Industries, a unit of Furniture Brands International Inc., said it will close its case goods manufacturing facility in Lenoir, North Carolina. The company expects to record a charge of $3 million, or 4 cents per share, related to the closure. Including an income tax benefit, the charge is expected to total $2 million. The majority of the costs are expected to be recorded in the first quarter. The 628,000-square-foot facility employs 390 people. Operations at the plant are expected to be shuttered by February 2007.
