Sao Paulo, Brazil, October 26--Brazilian exports of ceramic tiles have surpassed, in the period between January and September 2004, the total shipped by the sector in the whole of 2003.
In the Jan-Sep 2004 period the exports income totaled US$251.68mil against US$250.7mil in 2003.
In August the sector beat the historical exports record with deliveries of US$33.66mil in the month. The expectation is a turnover of US$330mil in the external market, 30% up 2003. The majors Eliane, Cecrisa and Portobello are responsible for largest part of the sector's deliveries that in 2003 represented 20% of the 530mil m3 produced in the country.
