Bloech To Lead Invista Commercial Greening
Atlanta, GA, May 24, 2006--Invista Interiors announced today that Henning Bloech has been appointed manager, Environmental Initiatives for the commercial division. Bloech will be responsible for developing, administering and marketing environmental initiatives and programs involving Antron carpet fiber, the registered trademark for the Invista brand of commercial carpet fiber. These include managing life-cycle assessment studies, directing and influencing investments in life-cycle environmental effects of product manufacturing and life cycle services. “We are so pleased to have someone with Henning’s level of expertise lead our environmental initiatives,” said Invista vice president, commercial/transportation flooring, Bobby Berrier. “Invista continues to incorporate strategies and programs to reduce our environmental impact, and we are eager to utilize Henning’s broad range of experience in this field to enhance our sustainable programs.” Before joining Invista, Bloech served as director of communications for the Greenguard Environmental Institute, a non-profit organization that oversees the Greenguard Certification Program, an independent testing program for low-emitting products and materials. He has published numerous articles and business cases on sustainable product selection, indoor air quality, source control, and green procurement. Bloech is an established speaker and has held presentations and training seminars on green design and indoor air quality at conferences and symposia including Neocon, CSI, TFM, USGBC Greenbuild, IIDA and AIA. He holds a Master’s Degree from Georg August University in Göttingen, Germany and is a member of the TFM Green Buildings Advisory Board, the U.S. Green Building Council Atlanta chapter and the Southface Energy Institute.
