Marietta, GA, December 12, 2006--At the annual FloorExpo conference in Denver, Colorado, Home Solutions member Bill Billingsley was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the executives at FloorExpo.
Recognized for a lifetime of business and personal excellence, Billingsley’s commitment to excellence is evident. “We’re happy to provide the opportunity for this type of recognition, it’s a valuable thing,” says Dave Gheesling, CEO and presenter of the award. “FloorExpo is fortunate to count some of the largest and finest business as members, but it is the incredible people who really make these businesses happen. We really enjoy the opportunity to congratulate and celebrate some of these outstanding individuals for their achievements in business and in life. It was an honor for me to present this award to someone of Bill Billingsly’s exceptional character.
Billingsley originally joined Miller Brothers in 1975 as the chief operating officer. Along the way, he made the decision to leave for other opportunities, but returned in 1987 to purchase the business. Billingsley used his insight and energy to grow the Miller Brothers from a small, local company into the major organization they are today. Miller Brothers is one of the top 100 flooring contractors in America and one who serves each of the major metro areas in Texas. Today, Miller Brothers is a full service provider to the builder business generating over 40 million dollars in annual revenue.
Mr. Billingsley, who was surrounded by his family as he received the honor, said, “It really is an honor to be recognized, especially by the people at FloorExpo. They are respected friends and important business partners. I’m proud to be included in such a group and I am humbled to receive this high honor.”
During the touching “this is your life” style presentation, Billingsley was commended for his significant community contributions both locally and nationally, including active support of local youth education and scholarship programs in Texas, the American Red Cross, Literacy Council, Boy Scouts of America and The American Heart Association. FloorExpo CEO, Dave Gheesling adds, “Most of our members are independent entrepreneurs, so they rarely get accolades for their hard work. They may never get that corporate gold watch, but this award is our way of acknowledging a job well done. Bill was a little embarrassed by all the attention, but that is just the kind of guy he is. He gives all the credit to others. However, it is Bill who built a strong business, raised a fine family and has been a positive influence in the lives of many during his career to this point. He is to be congratulated and FloorExpo is proud to recognize a fine gentleman.”
