Big Bob's Store in Fresno Burns

Fresno, CA, April 28, 2008--A fire at a Big Bob's Carpet store that caused about $80,000 in damage was started by a smoldering cigarette, according to firefighters. The cigarette was tossed near a rack of propane tanks that were venting at the time.

None of the propane tanks exploded but the fire quickly expanded to a pile of old carpet. The fire quickly escalated to a two-alarm fire.
