Big 12 Basketball Transitions from Glass to Hardwood Courts

Kansas City, MO, March 18, 2026-Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark decided to switch from LED glass court floors to hardwood floors before Friday's Big 12 Tournament semifinals, reports CBS Sports. 

The hardwood was installed overnight.

"After consultation with the coaches of our four semifinal teams, I have decided that, in order to provide our student-athletes with the greatest level of comfort on a huge stage this weekend, we will transition to a hardwood court for the remainder of the tournament. We look forward to a great semifinals and championship game," Yormark told CBS Sports in a statement.

March Madness begins March 18.
