Bernanke Urges Banks To Ease Lending Rules
Washington, DC, Nov. 9, 2011 -- Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is urging banks to ease tight lending standards for small businesses.
He said that many small businesses are still unable to secure loans more than two years after the recession ended, and many small businesses have complained that banks have made their lending too restrictive.
Bernanke says the Fed has been holding training sessions to ensure that banks are meeting the needs of credit worthy business borrowers while maintaining appropriate lending standards
