Bentley Prince Street's Kings Road Features Re

Los Angeles, CA, November 7, 2005--Bentley Prince Street now offers its market-leading Kings Road commercial carpet with 100% recycled yarn content. Its lower ounce weight counterpart, New Stratford™, is also now available with 100% recycled yarn content. With this launch, Bentley Prince Street now manufactures and markets more than 25 products that include post-industrial recycled content. Kings RoadRC and New StratfordRC are both made with post-industrial type 6,6 reclaimed nylon yarn fiber recovered from automotive part scrap waste. The recovered waste is de-polymerized, re-polymerized and extruded into yarn. Classic in style and known for its smooth finish, Kings Road is one of the company’s original products and has been an industry benchmark for cut pile carpet for more than 23 years. Kings RoadRC and New StratfordRC are available in broadloom commercial carpet or carpet tile in any of the Kings Road 126 standard colors or additional custom colors. “For more than two decades, Kings Road has led the industry in the cut pile category and is one of our cornerstone products. We’re excited to now offer the marketplace an environmentally-friendly option for this industry standard,” said Anthony Minite, president of Bentley Prince Street. The company also announced the introduction of two new recycled content backings for its products: Prestige PlusRC™ and Prestige PlusRC with Moisture Guard. Optional on all Bentley Prince Street products, these new backings include ReCover™, a component of the cushion backing made with 100% post-consumer recycled content. In addition to being more environmentally friendly, these new backings add tensile strength, dimensional stability and allow for easy removal from adhesive. “Over the last 10 years, Bentley Prince Street has reduced its waste sent to landfill by 82 percent. Kings RoadRC, along with our other recycled content products and backings, reuse materials that otherwise would have been disposed of as solid waste. We’re very pleased to have reached another milestone in our journey to sustainability,” Minite continued. Bentley Prince Street products are designed with branded type 6,6 nylon face fiber, which includes INVISTA’s Antron® Legacy recycled content fiber or Solutia’s Ultron® Renew solution dyed fiber. These fiber systems provide the highest levels of post industrial recycled content type 6,6 nylon available. All Bentley Prince Street standard broadloom and tile products are included in the Environmentally Preferable Product certification by Scientific Certification Systems, an independent, third-party certifier.
