Bentley Prince Street Wins WRAP Award Again
Los Angeles, CA, Dec. 9, 2010 -- Bentley Prince Street is one of 285 California businesses and nonprofit organizations to be named a 2010 Waste Reduction Award Program (WRAP) winner by the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle).
CalRecycle selected each winner based on its reported waste prevention, recycling and composting, procurement and educational activities. Since the inception of WRAP in 1993, Bentley Prince Street has won the award a total of 10 times, and consecutively since 2003, for its waste reduction programs.
"As part of our journey toward Mission Zero we are continually implementing and refining programs that move us closer to eliminating any negative impact that we may have on the environment by the year 2020," says BPS President Anthony Minite.
Bentley Prince Street has designed a comprehensive approach to waste diversion that engages associates, customers and vendors through a variety of different programs.
One of the highlights of Bentley Prince Street¹s internal recycling and composting program is monthly dumpster dives, where associates volunteer to dig through trash to retrieve recyclables.
The company's ReEntry 2.0 carpet reclamation program ensures that post consumer carpet is reused or recycled rather than discarded.
The company also recently launched Razor Hill, a product that reduces waste by utilizing tail ends of yarn from previous product runs within its Easy Street Collection of broadloom and carpet tile.
