Beaulieu's Cook Wins CRI Smrekar Award

Dalton, GA, Nov. 22, 2010 -- The Carpet and Rug Institute named Beaulieu Industries' Larry Cook the 2010 recipient of the Joseph J. Smrekar Memorial Award.

Cook is the immediate past chairman of CRI's Government Issues Committee, and he also chaired the workgroup that helped shape California's legislation concerning carpet reclamation and product stewardship.

The Smrekar award was established for CRI by Milliken & Co. as a memorial to its long-time employee, who served on numerous CRI boards before his death in 1998. The award recognizes individuals who have shown "unusual and exemplary service to the carpet and rug industry."
