Beaulieu Repairing, Upgrading Fire Damaged Plant

Dalton, GA, May 30, 2008—Improvements and upgrades for Beaulieu’s Memofil Plant in Dalton, Ga. are coming a little sooner than had been planned, due to a fire that hit the facility on May 14, the company said.

Officials said that the facility suffered damage to five extrusion lines for its production of polypropylene and nylon. The lines were separated from the main part of the plant. There were no injuries to any of plant’s 300 employees and limited production resumed within five hours, the company said.

Full production is anticipated on the damaged lines after work is completed later this year, Beaulieu said. Employees displaced by the fire have been reassigned temporarily to other Beaulieu plants in the area

CEO Ralph Boe said there will be no interruption of shipments and a moderate loss of inventory due to the fire.
