Beaulieu Honors 83-Year-Old Territory Manager Joe

Dalton, GA, May 9--Joe Mascari is one of six territory managers working in the Atlanta, Georgia area for Beaulieu Residential. Joe joined Beaulieu with the acquisition of Columbus Carpets in 1998. For his determination and success, Beaulieu honored Joe at Surfaces in Las Vegas earlier this year as the Top Territory Manager in the eastern division for 2004. For many, Joe has been working in the carpet industry longer that they have been alive. He started in the industry in 1952 working for a company located in Dalton, Georgia called Barwick Mills. Barwick was the largest carpet manufacturer in the world at that time. In 1966, he left Barwick and purchased Modern Carpets also located in Dalton, Georgia along with two other colleagues. Since that time, Joe has owned or been part owner of one other carpet mill and served as Vice President of Sales at four others. When asked if he had any advice for the younger generation of Territory Managers he stated, "Get up, get out, answer your phone and work hard to build a good relationship with your customers." Even after a long week’s work and fighting the Atlanta traffic every step of the way, Joe extends his work week into Saturday mornings, making sales calls. His commitment speaks for itself, as he was one of the largest producers in his region for 2004. When Joe was asked if he ever planned to retire his comment was “No, as long as I am healthy, I intend to keep working. Beaulieu has been good to me so I will be around for as long as they will have me." After his experiences in fighting the Germans in WWII and bringing up 10 kids, one wonders how he manages to keep going but Beaulieu is very glad he does. Joe has a wealth of knowledge and experience and is a great asset to the company. Beaulieu plans to have Joe around for many years to come.
