Beaulieu Downsizing at Alabama Spun Yarn Plant
Eufaula, AL, Aug. 4, 2011 -- Beaulieu of America is downsizing at its spun yarn plant in Eufaula, as the industry continues to move from spun yarn to filament.
The company said it would cut 125 jobs by early October. The firm currently employs 312 at the Eufaula plant.
Beaulieu cited declining demand for spun yarn over the last few years.
Beaulieu said it will continue its spinning operation in Gainesville, Georgia.
