Beaulieu Closing Georgia Spun Yarn Plant

Dalton, GA, Sept. 24, 2010--Beaulieu said that it will close its Royston spun yarn facility in Royston, Georgia, on November 26, while increasing production of softer BCF products at other locations.

“Balancing our capacities to meet the needs of the marketplace and our customers will only enhance our service capabilities,” said CEO Ralph Boe.

“While there will still be demand for spun yarn, the demand will be lower than in the past. Our soft BCF fibers in both nylon and polyester have gained tremendous momentum over the past year.”

Beaulieu said that it will continue to develop the softer fibers along with other technologies.

“The decision, while always difficult, will allow us to make improvements at other facilities to keep up with the increased demand of our new soft products,” said Boe.
