Beaulieu Closing Dalton Plant
Dalton, GA, Oct. 23, 2011 -- Beaulieu of America will close its Riverbend plant in Dalton, Ga. by the end of the year.
The plant produces tufted and finished carpet and has been part of Beaulieu since 1988.
CEO Ralph Boe said the demand for residential carpet has fallen by 50% since its peak in 2006 and the company didn't need to operate five plants.
Last Thursday the company announced $230 million in loan refinancing led by Bank of America and Wells Fargo Capital Finance and including PNC Bank.
