Beaulieu CEO Issues Higher Walking Goal

Dalton, GA, June 23, 2010--After Beaulieu workers achieved their million miles in less than a year last December, Ralph Boe did what any president and CEO would do – he doubled the goal for his company.

The “Million Mile Challenge,” a way to encourage Beaulieu associates to walk daily, became a “2-Million Mile Challenge.” It has become so popular with employees that the first collective million miles was achieved in half the time this year.
 
“At this rate, we should easily achieve our 2-Million mile goal by year’s end,” observed Mr. Boe.
 
Beaulieu associates are encouraged to plan walking time into their daily routines. Company management accommodates and even sets up walking courses at Beaulieu facilities. In October, 2009, Beaulieu was one of only 820 companies (and the only one in the floor covering industry) to receive the American Heart Association “The Start! Fit-Friendly Company” honors in Fortune magazine.
