BASF to Raise Ultramid Polyamide & Caprolactum Pri

Mount Olive, NJ, Feb. 12--BASF today announced that it will increase prices for Ultramid polyamide (PA) 6 spinning polymer, compounding resins and caprolactum in North America by six cents per pound, effective March 1. "This action is necessary due to increases in oil prices since January and their subsequent impact on raw material and energy costs," said Mark Dobson, marketing and sales director for BASF's polyamide and intermediate global business unit in North America. PA 6 spinning polymers and caprolactum are primarily used to produce carpet fibers.
