BASF Raising Polyamide Prices Feb. 1

Florham Park, NJ, Jan. 26, 2010--BASF will increase the price for Polyamide 6, Polyamide 6,6 and copolymer by $0.12 per pound effective Feb. 1.

This increase covers nylon polymer for spinning, monofilament, film, wire and cable applications, and neat resin for compounding.

“This increase is necessary due to raw material cost increases, particularly benzene,” said Mark Dobson, business director of BASF’s Polyamide and Intermediates business in North America.
