Charlotte, NC, August 20 - Effective September 13, 2004, or as contracts allow, BASF will raise prices in the United States, Canada and Mexico on all styrene-butadlene polymers supplied to the carpet industry and high solids butadlene polymers supplied to the carpet and construction industries by $0.05 per dry pound. Product brands included are Styronal, Styrofan, Butofan and Butonal.
On August 16, the Dow Emulsion Polymers business also announced that it is increasing the prices of all latex sold into the carpet industry by US$0.05/lb (dry) in the United States and Canada effective September 13. This increase is in addition to the August increase of .05/lb (dry).
