Baillie Lumber to Buy Long Floor Supply

October, 23, 2006, Hamburg, NY--Baillie Lumber (Hamburg, NY) has entered into an agreement to purchase Long Floor Supply, Inc and Long Floor Distributing, LLC, Virginia companies. Long’s is a full-service hardwood flooring, sundries, and equipment distributor with locations in Beltsville, MD; Richmond and Chesapeake, VA; and Raleigh, NC. The management and owners of Long’s, Al Lewis, Chip Armstrong, and Luther Carroll will remain actively involved in the management of the new company. The new company will operate as Long Flooring and will proudly join a network of Baillie owned distribution companies throughout the Southeast and Western United States. Baillie currently owns and operates Heritage Forest Products with 2 locations in FL and GA; Horizon Forest Products with 5 locations in SC, NC, and TN; and National Wood Products with 5 locations spread throughout UT, NV, CA, and CO. Long’s CEO, Luther Carroll said “This was an easy decision for us to take our company in this direction. We have had a great partnership with another one of Baillie Lumber’s companies, Mullican Flooring, for many years. Mullican’s quality products and support have been a key contributor to our growth and success in the Mid-Atlantic region for many years. Through this relationship, we have had the unique opportunity to get to know the individuals and management of both Mullican and Baillie. The core values, character, and goals of Baillie Lumber, mirror those that Long has worked hard to demonstrate over the years. As such, this new relationship with Baillie should enhance the growth and service level that we at Long’s will be able to bring to our current customers, as well as, those in future markets.” The change in ownership is planned for the end of the year.
