Bader Named Chairman, President & CEO, Cargill Dow

Minneapolis, Jan 27--Kathleen M. Bader was named chairman, president and chief executive of Cargill Dow LLC, a joint venture of Dow Chemical Co. and closely held commodity processing giant Cargill Inc. The 50/50 joint venture, founded in 1997, makes resin from renewable resources, like the dextrose in corn. A company spokesman said Bader is replacing Randy Howard as Cargill Dow president and chief executive. The chairman's position is new at the joint venture. Howard retired earlier in January. In a press release Tuesday, Cargill Dow said Bader has been with Dow Chemical since 1973 and was named vice president for quality and business excellence in 1999. In 2000, Dow appointed her business group president for styrenics and engineered products. That business group represents a $4 billion portfolio.
