Australian Flooring Firm Names China Adviser
Melbourne, Australia, Dec. 9, 2008--Flooring company Style Limited has named Beijing-based businessman and political consultant, John Holden, as the senior strategic adviser in China.
Holden, the managing director of global public relations firm Hill & Knowlton in Beijing, is the immediate past president of the National Committee on United States-China Relations and chairman emeritus of the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in China.
Holden will advise Style’s board and senior management on the evolving economic and political situations in China as the company grows in China, including the rollout of several new specialized green flooring products manufactured in China.
In a separate announcement, the company said a Chinese court has upheld the company’s claim of patent infringement by Chinese competitor Zhejiang of Style’s patented strand woven manufacturing technology.
The dispute covered the process through which Style processes bamboo poles into strand woven bamboo blocks.
The company said the ruling also sets a precedent for similar disputes.
The court victory comes 10 days after Style announced a breakthrough in the application of its strand woven technology to produce commercial-strength timber flooring from fast-growing low density hardwood and pulpwood species.
