Austin to Head Global Market Development at Propex

Chattanooga, TN, May 14, 2007--Deron Austin, PE, CPESC has been named Global Market Development Director for Propex Inc.  In his new position Austin is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to increase the demand for the company’s geotextile and fiber-reinforced concrete products.  He is also very involved with evaluating acquisition and growth opportunities for the company. 

Austin has held numerous positions throughout his 14 years with the company, including: Director of Marketing, Manager of Engineering Services and Product Manager for Geotextiles.  Prior to returning to Propex, Austin was employed by Paradigm Engineering where he was responsible for overall strategic plan, direction and profit for the company’s storm water compliance services for seven states in the Southeast US.

Austin received a Civil Engineering degree from Bucknell University.  He is licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Tennessee (PE) and is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC).  He is a member of numerous organizations, including: International Erosion Control Association, International Geosynthetics Society, ASTM International and is Vice Chairman of the Geosynthetic Materials Association.
