Attendance of New Vendors Up at fcB2B Meeting

Atlanta, GA, July 7, 2009--The Floor Covering Business to Business Association, better known as “fcB2B,” saw an increase in the number of new vendors at its annual meeting, despite a down economy.

The organization is devoted entirely to encourage the use of electronic data interchange (EDI) in the floor covering industry.

While the association itself is still in its initial phase of development, attendees said they noted great strides in the use of the technology.

According to Pam Bowe, executive director/CEO of the fcB2B association, the increase in the number of new vendors (distributors and mills) was encouraging.

“Much progress is being made on the expansion, refinement and usability of the product price catalog component,” said Bowe, “which will continue to benefit both current and future users of fcB2B software in their businesses.”

Aaron Pirner, CEO of CAP Carpet, Wichita, KS, president of fcB2B association and one of the prime movers behind the fcB2B program, said he was impressed by the attendance and participation at the meeting.

“Several firms sent multiple delegates, a quarter of which were first time attendees," he said.  "It was a very positive, informative and productive meeting.”

While this is the fourth annual meeting of the association, the group had been meeting for two years on a volunteer basis prior to formally establishing the association.

The purpose of the fcB2B association is to foster the utilization of electronic data interchange (EDI) in the floor covering industry and to act as a facilitator to ensure the process is trouble free and that all participants can maximize their experience with the technology to improve their productivity and enhance their bottom line.
