ASCR Announces Slate Of New Environmental Courses

Millersville, MD, Sept. 3--The Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration has announced a new slate of environmental courses that it will be offering. The courses fall into four areas: mold, hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER), indoor air quality, and asbestos. “The goal of the ASCR Board of Directors is to continually increase the value of the Association to our members and the industry and one way to accomplish that is by expanding the number of courses we offer,” said Larry Jacobson, ASCR executive director. “We believe these new courses, coupled with those already in our portfolio, give us the foundation of a first-class environmental program.” The courses will be provided on behalf of ASCR by Trade-Winds Environmental Restoration, Inc., and Wonder Makers Environmental, Inc. Trade-Winds Environmental Restoration is headed by Michael O’Reilly and is located in Bay Shore, NY, which will be the site of all Trade-Winds courses. Kalamazoo, MI based Wonder Makers Environmental is headed by Dr. Michael Pinto. Its courses will be taught at various sites around the country. Mold courses include three-day worker courses, a three-day mold remediation course, two-day supervisor courses, a two-day mold inspection course, and one-day courses in estimating techniques and designing mold remediation work plans. A new one-day HAZWOPER refresher course will also be offered, in addition to a previously announced, 40-hour HAZWOPER course. These courses are specifically tailored to professionals in the cleaning, restoration, and remediation industries. Completing the roster of new ASCR environmental courses are a three-day course on conducting effective indoor air quality investigations and a one-day asbestos inspector management planner refresher. The new ASCR environmental course offerings are presented several times throughout the year. Details on the courses are available on the ASCR website (www.ASCR.org). Registration can be accomplished on line or by contacting ASCR directly.
