Armstrong-DLW Posts Improved 1H
Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, August 31--Armstrong-DLW, the German flooring manufacturer, a subsidiary of US group Armstrong World Industries, showed improvements for the first half of the current year, although a loss is still expected for the year as a whole, according to the Financial Times. Turnover for the six-month period under review rose by 4.1 per cent to 193.5m euros, while incoming orders increased by 9.4 per cent to 203.2m euros. The pre-tax loss was reduced from 9.7m euros to 5.9m euros, while the loss for the period remained at 6.4m euros. A slight slip in domestic sales was balanced by improved business abroad.
