Armstrong Wins Australian Sustainability Award

Melbourne, Australia, December 6, 2007--Armstrong World Industries was awarded Gold Certification in Sustainability Victoria’s Waste Wise Program in Braeside, Melbourne, Australia.

Armstrong’s continued its overall efforts for landfill reduction and with one plant diverted more material from the landfill than was sent.

Armstrong was also a finalist in both the federal government’s Greenhouse Challenge Plus awards and in the 2005 savewater! Awards.

The company has been a member of the Green Building Council of Australia since March 2004.

Both Armstrong’s manufacturing plants at Braeside and Thomastown in Victoria are accredited as Waste Wise facilities by Sustainability Victoria – a state government agency providing information and assistance on waste reduction initiatives.
