Armstrong To Raise Resilient Prices
Lancaster, PA, Nov. 23, 2011 -- Armstrong said it will initiate a price increase of 4-6% in the U.S. and Canada on residential luxury vinyl tile, laminate, residential sheet and tile, and select commercial sheet products.
In addition, a 2.5% increase on commercial vinyl composition tile, and a 3-10% increase on installation, maintenance and accessory products also will be initiated, beginning with shipments on Jan. 23.
“As we anticipated in June, we are sustaining higher costs due to continued increases in raw material inflation beyond our previous expectation. We anticipate these higher costs to remain in place throughout 2012,” said Kevin M. Biedermann, senior vice president.
The company said it has aggressively pursued manufacturing productivity improvements and cost reduction initiatives to offset higher costs, but can't keep pace with the sustained increases that have occurred over the last 18 months.
