Armstrong To Raise Residential Sheet Vinyl Prices

Lancaster, PA, Sept. 24--Armstrong announced today that it will initiate a three to five percent price increase on selected residential vinyl sheet flooring products effective with shipments on December 1. “Significant increases in key raw materials as well as higher energy and transportation costs, make a price increase necessary at this time,” said Frank Ready, senior vice president, sales and marketing. “Since the same period last year, we’ve experienced significant increases in operating costs. In spite of our year-over-year productivity gains, we simply can’t continue to absorb these costs alone. “Regardless of the current volatility in energy prices, our immediate focus remains the same--introduce exciting new products while at the same time driving productivity and quality initiatives that make Armstrong the best resilient flooring supplier in the industry,” he said. The announcement impacts residential sheet goods only. At this time, there is no announced increase on residential tile and commercial sheet and tile.
