Armstrong Sells Land In Lancaster

Lancaster, PA, Dec. 15--A vacant city tract has a new owner but not a new use, as yet. Lancaster developer Robert A. Wolf II this week completed his purchase of a nearly 15-acre site from Armstrong World Industries for $1.5 million, according to the Lancaster New Era. But, Wolf said Friday, his plans for the Manheim Pike and Dillerville Road site are undetermined. "Now that I've settled on the property, I can start to concentrate on looking at some different development options, and see what calls I might get from interested users," he said. Wolf said he had no timetable for making a decision. As the New Era reported in August, Armstrong had agreed to sell the land--which adjoins the northwest side of its Liberty Street floor plant--because it was surplus. The land is zoned central manufacturing. Wolf has developed the Oregon Commons and Manor West Commons office condominium projects, the Foxshire Plaza mall and helped develop Bent Creek Country Club. His restaurant ventures include Portofino, Carlos & Charlie's and Chancey's Pub. Also, he developed the multi-business building at 360 Steel Way that's home to Standard Acoustical, of which he is president. Standard Acoustical distributes and installs Armstrong ceilings.
