Armstrong Raises Vinyl, Laminate Prices

Lancaster, PA, January 24, 2008 – Armstrong is increasing prices 5 to 7 percent in the U.S. for VCT, commercial sheet vinyl, commercial wallbase, LVT, residential sheet and tile, and laminate products, effective with shipments on March 3.

“Sustained high prices for oil and natural gas have continued to drive increases in key raw material costs, particularly PVC resins and plasticizers,” said Paul Murfin, vice president of sales.

“Further weakness of the U.S. dollar versus other major currencies continues to adversely impact the cost of both key raw materials and products sourced from overseas. In addition, both domestic and international transportation costs continue to rise.”
