Armstrong Exec Named To Design Board

Washington, DC, Jan. 9--The American Society of Interior Designers and the University of Minnesota are pleased to announce that Armstrong Vice President Joann Davis Brayman, Industry Partner of ASID, has joined the InformeDesign Advisory Board. The board advises on the goals, strategic direction, operation and future of InformeDesign, the first searchable database of design and human behavior research on the Web (www.informedesign.umn.edu). Davis Brayman, a key Armstrong marketer for more than two decades, is vice president, commercial marketing, Armstrong Building Products. Most recently, she was vice president, retail sales and marketing, Armstrong Building Products--Americas. Earlier, Davis Brayman led the company's marketing research team in floor products operations as general manager, market information, and marketing manager, residential ceilings, building products operations-Americas, and general manager, retail business, building products division. She began her career with Armstrong as a member of the company's building products operations retail sales team. Davis Brayman graduated from Bowling Green University, Bowling Green, OH, with a bachelor's degree in business administration/marketing, and Shippensburg University, Shippensburg, PA, with a master's degree in business administration. The other members of the advisory board are Barbara Day, Industry Partner of ASID, Carpet and Rug Institute; Suzan Globus, ASID, Globus Design Associates; Pam Graetzer, graetzer.communications, inc.; Vivian Loftness,FAIA, Carnegie Mellon University; Joe Ouye, Ph.D., Gensler; and Sheri Thompson, Industry Partner of ASID, Sherwin-Williams. InformeDesign currently contains more than 500 "practitioner-friendly" Research Summaries of findings transformed from scholarly journal articles related to design and human behavior. All services on the Web site are available at no cost to visitors. In addition to the searchable database of Research Summaries, the site features online discussion forums, Implications-a monthly newsletter, listings of collaborative research opportunities, a calendar of research-related events and a glossary of terms. Visitors may register with InformeDesign and receive automated e-mail notifications about Research Summaries pertaining to their areas of interest or practice.
