Armstrong Closing Montreal Vinyl Plant

Montreal, Quebec, Nov. 17, 2010 -- Armstrong World Industries Inc. is permanently closing its idled Montreal vinyl floor manufacturing facility in December due to market conditions, according to a story in CB Online.

"Because market conditions have not improved, we have since decided to close the facility in early December," spokeswoman Jennifer Johnson told CB Online.

Armstrong has shifted production to its other vinyl flooring plants to fulfil North American demand.

Johnson said its customers and Canadian sales force will not be affected by the closure.

The Montreal plant has manufactured residential and commercial flooring vinyl tiles since 1946.
