Cartersville, GA, May 25, 2006--Aquafil USA Inc., is moving into its new 140,000 square foot building in Cartersville, Georgia. The just completed facility, will house, under one roof Aquafil’s new fiber extrusion plant, capable of producing 15 million lbs/year of Nylon 6 bcf, and an improved twisting, heatsetting and air entanglement operation.
Yarn warehousing and distribution will also be at the same location.
The Aquafil USA plant will continue to receive feeder yarn from its sister European companies to complement the locally produced fibers. The company expects USA sales in 2007 to exceed 25,000,000 lbs.
The new production site has required more than $15 million in capital expenditures and will be fully operational by mid-summer. The facility will employ more than 100.
As Aquafil USA is also planning a further expansion of the capacity at the Cartersville facility before the end of next year.
