Aquafil To Manufacture Superior Technologies Yarn
Cartersville, GA, March 18, 2009 - Aquafil USA, Inc. has entered into an agreement with Monticello International, the newly formed company that acquired the assets of Thomas Industries, to manufacture all nylon yarns previously produced under the brand Superior Yarn Technology.
Thomas Industries, along with investors, purchased Superior Yarn Technologies LLC in 2004. At that time, Superior had the capacity to produce 70 million pounds of solution dyed yarn annually.
Under the terms of the agreement, the vast majority of Superior Yarn colors will now be available from Aquafil USA, Inc. in the 1260 denier, Chromacasa solution dyed yarn system especially designed for the hospitality market.
These colors will be part of the Aquafil USA, Inc. offering, and will be available as singles or as air entangled or twisted and heat set reprocessed packages ready to tuft. Extrusion and reprocessing will occur at the Aquafil USA, Inc. Cartersville plant.
