Aquafil Begins Operations at China Plant
Jiaxing, China, March 28, 2011 -- Aquafil's new plant in Jiaxing China has begun manufacturing BCF carpet fibers and engineering resins for injection molding.
The multimillion dollar investment from the Aquafil group consists of a 240,000-square-foot facility on a 10 acre property and includes fiber extrusion as well as twisting, heatsetting and airentanglement of BCF nylon 6 carpet yarn.
An extrusion line to regenerate nylon pellets out of fiber waste and scrap is also part of the new plant equipment.
Mauro Cristofaletti, previously sales manager for Aquafil USA, is the site manager.
Aquafil now has nylon BCF extrusion capability on three continents.
The Jiaxing facility is the 12th manufacturing plant of the Aquafil group, which also has facilities in Italy (5), Slovenjia (3), Croatia, Thailand and U.S.
The company has also recently invested in a new Econyl plant in Slovenjia to manufacture nylon resin out of post consumer and post industrial wastes and expansion at its Cartersville plant.
