Antron Presents Various Awards
San Francisco, CA, April 25, 2008 – The 23rd Antron Carpet Fiber Design Award grand prize was presented to Cohos Evamy integratedesign for its innovative use of carpet in designing the PCL Centennial Learning Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.
Category awards were given to:
•Healthcare Category winner: Perkins Eastman for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center- Surgical Center Platform, New York
•Hospitality Category winner: Durrant-Minneapolis for Cue: Restaurant and Bar
•Large Office Category winner: Gensler for Office of the Attorney General of Washington State, Seattle
•Retail Category winner- Gensler for Allsteel San Francisco Resource Center, San Francisco
•Grand Prize Winner Cohos Evamy integratedesign also captured the Public Spaces category for PCL Centennial Learning Centre, Edmonton, Alberta
Merit awards were given to:
•Healthcare Merit winner: Looney Ricks Kiss Architects for OrthoMemphis PC, Memphis, Tenn.
•Large Office Merit winner: HOK for AOL Los Angeles, Los Angeles
•Large Office Merit winner: Corgan Associates, Inc. for Rent-A-Center Corporate Headquarters, Plano. TX
•Public Spaces Merit winner: EwingCole for Liberty Science Center, Jersey City, New Jersey
•Small Office Merit winner: Gensler for Chemoil Corporation, San Francisco
“The projects honored this year show the creativity that carpet can inspire,” said Bobby Berrier, vice president, INVISTA Commercial Flooring.
Carpet Fiber Product Innovation Award top honors went to Atlas Carpet Mills and Shaw Contract Group. Atlas Carpet Mills’ “Avant Garde Colletion” captured the gold award in the broadloom category and Shaw Contract Group’s “Silk” captured the gold award in the modular category. The ceremony honoring award winners took place at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco.
Jurors recognized Atlas Carpet Mills’ “Avant Garde Collection” with top honors in the broadloom category for its clever texture and playful, yet elegant patterns.
Shaw Contract Group’s “Silk” was recognized with top honors in the modular category.
Antron Carpet Fiber Product Innovation silver award was given to Tandus for “Line Dance” in the broadloom category. Merit Awards went to Atlas Carpet Mills for “Mod Squad Collection” in the broadloom category and Lees Carpets’ “Menswear Collection” in the modular category.
The Antron Carpet Fiber Sustainable Flooring Performance grand prize was awarded today to Ephrata Middle School in Ephrata, Wash. for carpet that has been performing beautifully since its original installation in 1984
