Moscow, Russia, April 23, 2007--Abirochas, one of Brazil’s best known natural and ornamental stone associations, has officially confirmed its participation at this year’s Flooring Russia Exhibition being held in Moscow from 31 October – 2 November 2007. ABIROCHAS in conjunction with the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency -APEX - are jointly supporting Brazilian stone and marble companies who wish to participate at Flooring Russia within the Abirochas group stand
Andrea Batazzi, Official Consultant for South America commented “Abirochas has been supporting their members worldwide for many years now and encouraging them to export the great products that Brazilian manufacturers produce, which,” he adds, “are some of the finest marble and granite in the world”.
"Brazil, over the last years, has been included among the top world producers and exporters of ornamental marble and tiles. In the world market for special processed marbles, Brazil has passed from the 12th largest in 1999 to 5th largest in 2005, its participation in the world market has increased from the 1.4% to 5%. On top of this fact, Brazil is the 2nd largest exporter of brute granite and laso the 2nd of ardosia products. ABIROCHAS’s international promotional strategy has been a key element of this growth and for 2007 the participation with a collective Brazilian stand to Flooring Russia 2007 with the support of APEX (Brazilian Export Promotion Agency) must be considered as a new step towards the penetration of a new very interesting market like Russia,” reports Abirochas
For the first time in 2007 several new markets will be joining the show, all wanting to be part of this buoyant economy. These include Paraguay, Argentina and China making Flooring Russia a truly international brand.
China is back with a stronger and increased participation; Leway Exhibitions Beijing and the CCPIT Beijing in China have confirmed their stands proving further Moscow’s 5th edition of Flooring Russia is the industries number 1 choice.
Entre Marketing from Finland are also returning for a 3rd year bringing back members who have had 2 previous successful shows and want to continue the momentum of their sales. Russia needs to see companies return year on year to their market to gain their trust and business, this is exactly what Finland is doing.
The Russian flooring and surfaces market is big, buoyant and growing fast. Annual sector imports totalled US $548 million in 2006 which is forecast to exceed $600 million in 2007. The economy continues to grow with GDP increasing to 6.7% in 2006 which has accelerated both real disposable income and real average wage growth to 13.1% and 17% respectively. Consumers’ increased aspirations and income is driving sales of flooring and surfaces products.
